Webnet Mesh by Jakob is a material well suited for fencing in a variety of sports due to its strength, durability and flexibility.
The Jakob Webnet is made from braided stainless steel wire and can be used in many areas of the sport, from ball catching and fall protection to crowd control in indoor stadiums.
1. Stretchability: Webnet can be stretched and stretched to meet project requirements for levels of rigidity or flexibility. This makes it especially effective against catchers.
2. Shock resistance and noise resistance. Webnet absorbs noise and withstands ball impact, making it ideal for ball fences and where noise must be kept to a minimum.
3. Sturdy and durable: Webnet is made of marine grade stainless steel. This makes it resistant to corrosion, weathering and UV radiation (unlike, for example, nylon mesh).
4. Low maintenance: Webnet requires minimal ongoing maintenance, which helps save money in the long run.
5. Transparency: Webnet is very transparent (especially in sleeveless style), which is great for visibility, light, and airflow.
6. Large span size: Webnet can meet the requirements of very large span with minimal support, which is very suitable for indoor basketball courts.
7. High degree of customization: Webnet can be customized according to hole size and shape, cable size, color, etc.
8. Compliance: Webnet complies with Australian standards and can be used in projects with high traffic requirements.
Invisible football net, Switzerland: In Lausanne, the net of this receiving net stretches excessively laterally at the point where most balls hit the net. This makes it stiff and impact resistant at that point, while the rest of the mesh is softer and more flexible. This solution fully demonstrates the flexibility of Webnet and how it can adapt to different situations and requirements.
Swiss Catch Fence: The high school playground is located in a busy area close to the main road, so a sports fence is essential for effective noise reduction and safety. Webnet fences meet these requirements by keeping the ball inside the fence and absorbing shock and noise.
Webnet can be an ideal solution for sports fields where fall protection is also required. One example is Sydney’s new multi-storey high school in Surry Hills, where Tensile was involved in the construction of a mesh barrier for a rooftop basketball court. This created some problems as the span was 26 meters and there were no existing supports. However, we were able to use our knowledge of tension to design a custom column cable system to support the mesh.
Another application of the Webnet is invisible barriers in indoor sports arenas, such as the Dee Why’s Police Citizens youth club facility. In this project, we installed the most transparent and lightweight screens, as well as several railings to protect against falls. Webnet mesh with 160mm aperture is used to create a sports fence that acts as a very strong barrier, almost invisible.
Stainless steel wire mesh is a type of woven mesh made from stainless steel wires. It is commonly used for various applications that require strong and durable materials, such as industrial and architectural applications. Stainless steel wire mesh is popular because of its excellent resistance to corrosion and rust, making it suitable for outdoor use and in harsh environments. It is available in various sizes and mesh counts, making it suitable for different applications, such as filtration, fencing, and screen printing. The wire mesh can also be customized to meet specific requirements, such as high-temperature resistance or chemical compatibility.
